Rusnak Porsche Launches 2010 Porsche Panamera

Right from the start after the introduction of the Panamera beginning in Germany on 12 September 2009, the Panamera will be available in its top versions with a V8 power unit and luxurious features.

Boasting a centre console leading back all the way from the dashboard to the rear seats, Porsche’s four-door Gran Turismo offers a new feeling of space and driving quality on all four seats. The interior provides optimum ergonomic conditions for the driver and, in addition, accentuates the personal privacy of each passenger on four single seats tailored to each occupant. The low seating position and the sporting, low-slung steering wheel ensure that direct feeling for the road so typical of Porsche.
Apart from these classic values, the Panamera offers the customer numerous options and possibilities to customise the interior individually to his or her personal choice, smooth and natural leather available in a total of 13 colour and material combinations including four bi-colour options teaming up wherever required with seven optional interior trim finish styles including exclusive materials such as Carbon and Olive Nature open-pore wood.

Four-zone automatic air conditioning is available as an option, providing individual adjustment of temperature, blower intensity and air distribution on each seat. The driver and passengers in the new Panamera are protected by driver and front passenger airbags, curtain airbags as well as – on the front seats – side and knee airbags all ensuring maximum safety as standard features in the event of an accident. Side airbags are furthermore available at the rear as an optional feature.
The comfort seats featured as standard at the front of the Panamera S and 4S are extra-sporting in style and adjust electrically in eight different directions for excellent travel comfort at all times. At the rear two single seats with a folding centre armrest ensure generous legroom and headroom also for tall passengers.

The Panamera Turbo combines electrical seat adjustment with a Comfort Memory Package offering not only extension of the seat bottom, but also lumbar supports and electrical steering column adjustment. Further alternatives such as adaptive sports seats or comfort seats at the rear electrically adjustable to a wide range of different positions are likewise available as an option.
The new Panamera is the first Porsche to offer the most supreme standard of high-end audio quality, the High-End Surround Sound System from the Berlin audio specialist Burmester, one of the most renowned high-end audio companies in the world. Never before has such a large, acoustically effective surface of membranes been included in the concept from the start and subsequently implemented in the actual production vehicle. More than 2,400 square centimetres of sound membranes offer an experience in sound very similar to that of a live concert. In all, 16 loudspeakers masterminded by 16 amplifier channels with more than 1,000 W overall output provide a unique sound rounded off by an active subwoofer together with a 300 W Class D amplifier.

The superior everyday driving qualities of the Panamera are borne out clearly also by the luggage compartment and loading concept: After opening the rear lid, the driver and passengers are able to conveniently stow four suitcases behind the rear seats – putting them into the luggage compartment in an upright position for easy access thanks to the height available. Luggage compartment capacity in the Panamera S and 4S is 445 litres or 15.6 cu ft, luggage compartment capacity in the Panamera Turbo is 432 litres or 15.1 cu ft – and with the rear seat backrests tilted down, luggage capacity increases to an ample 1,250 litres or 43.8 cu ft.
The Panamera is initially entering the market with V8 power units only, featuring either rear or all-wheel drive. Right from the start, the entry-level Panamera S is powered by a 4.8-litre V8 developing maximum output of 400 bhp (294 kW). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels as an option by Porsche’s seven-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) or double-clutch gearbox.
Acceleration to 100 km/h comes in 5.4 seconds, top speed is 283 km/h or 176 mph. Combined fuel consumption to the EU5 standard, in turn, is 10.8 ltr/100 km, equal to 26.2 mpg imp, and the CO2 emission rating is 253 g/km.
In conjunction with PDK transmission and including both 19 per cent VAT and specific national equipment, the Panamera S retails in Germany at a price of Euro 98,085.50.

All models come with Direct Fuel Injection, low-friction drive systems and lightweight bodyshells. And at the same time all models in the range fitted with Porsche PDK Doppelkupplungsgetriebe feature Porsche’s new Auto Start Stop function automatically switching off the engine when coming to a standstill and with the driver pressing down the brake pedal – for example at the traffic lights or in traffic congestion.

Pasadena POPS

Rachael Worby and the Pasadena POPS joined forces with the students of Pasadena Symphony Association’s 2009 Side-By-Side program in “Genius Loves Company”- an exploration of how great composers’ music has influenced great composers. These accomplished students were selected from all over Southern California for a once in a lifetime opportunity to rehearse and play side-by-side with the professional musicians of the Pasadena POPS. These final concerts concluded the 2009 POPS Summer Series and also honored Lincoln’s bicentennial with television, film and stage actor Harry Lennix in Copland’s A Lincoln Portrait on Friday and Saturday, September 11 & 12 at Descanso Gardens at 7:30 p.m.
This celebration of mutual admiration between composers and artists featured the brilliant works of Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins performed by Concertmaster Aimee Kreston and 11 year old protégé, Geneva Lewis, Bernstein’s Overture to Candide, Brubeck’s A Touch of Jazz, Verdi’s Triumph March from Aida and Williams’ Three Pieces from Schindler’s List in addition to excerpts of orchestral gems from Mozart, Mahler and Shostakovich. Soprano, Shana Blake Hill, (whose voice has been described by Ken Hoover of the Classical Voice as “… like pyrotechnics flashing in the sky and then floating gently toward earth”) performed Mr. Tambourine Man, Blowin’ in the Wind and Forever Young from Corigliano’s song cycle of Bob Dylan’s poems, Mr. Tambourine Man.

About Side-By-Side
The Side-By-Side Symphony musicians are specially selected from all over Southern California to audition for the opportunity to perform in concert side-by-side with the Pasadena POPS. Additionally they receive lessons and coaching sessions with mentors from the POPS orchestra, attend rehearsals and participate in a Master Class, learning ways to enhance their musicianship as well as techniques and strategies to help them maneuver through the challenges of the music they will be performing.

5th Annual Ronald McDonald House Shine Gala

The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House held their 5th Annual Shine Benefit on September 12, 2009, at 6:00pm. “Shine on Viejo California” celebrated the Rancho-era of California history. The Fiesta was held at a private home in the heart of Pasadena. The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House is an affordable and supportive “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals.

Colleen Williams from KNBC News was Master of Ceremonies, and Steve Madison, 7th District Councilman for Pasadena was the Honoree. Rusnak Auto Group provided valet parking for the event. The gourmet fiesta was catered by The Kitchen for Exploring foods. The live music was performed by The Malibu Mariachis, a musical group with a twist. Plus there were silent and live auctions featuring interesting and exiting items to bid on.
The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House is located at 763 South Pasadena Avenue. The Shine Gala is the main fundraising event of the year for the House. The event chair, Rosey Bell said “This year the Gala was colorful, casual and festive. We are trying to put the “fun” back into fundraising.”

Giving back never looked so good! 11th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk

The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA invited animal lovers to put their best feet forward on Sunday, September 27, 2009 during the shelter’s 11th annual Wiggle Waggle Walk fundraiser for the animals. Organizers hoped to raise $330,000 through the event, which will provide food, shelter and medical care to homeless animals, nearly 12,000 of which are taken in by the humane society every year.

Some 2,250 people and their dogs took part in the walk, which began at 9 a.m. at Brookside Park at the Rose Bowl. Walkers and their dogs chose either a one-mile or three-mile route around the outside of the stadium before enjoying a free Family Fun Fair at the park. Participants did not need a dog to join the fun—just a desire to help the animals—and they walked individually or formed teams.
This year’s event was presented by Wells Fargo. Besides the Rusnak Auto Group, other sponsors included Merrill Lynch-Tanimoto Group, the Allen Lund Company, Gillan Abercrombie Frame, PetSmart, Jack FM, Petco, the Petco Foundation and the Pasadena Weekly.

The Pasadena Humane Society is an open door shelter that accepts and cares for every animal that comes to it from its service area—an average of 30 each day. It does not turn away any animal for any reason.

The shelter serves seven cities—Arcadia, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena—with a combined population of 500,000 people. 22nd Annual Tournament of Hope Golf Classic

On Monday, September 28th, 2009 the 22nd Annual Tournament of Hope Golf Classic benefiting Villa Esperanza Services was held at the Glendora Country Club. The shotgun tournament started with a 144 players who enjoyed a round of golf, lunch, cocktails, dinner, with an awards presentation at the end of the day. Rusnak Jaguar was the hole in one sponsor with a 2010 Jaguar XF. A live and silent auction was held to raise funds for the non-profit. The guests met “Jonathan” who was celebrating his achievements at Villa. Distinguished Speaker Series

Already well established as a Southern California cultural institution, the Distinguished Speakers Series of Pasadena has again lined up an all-star array of presenters for the upcoming 2009-2010 season.  Now in its fourteenth year at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, this season’s speakers include President Bill Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, and Dan Rather. The season runs from October 2009 to May 2010. Spencer Wells, Michael Beschloss, Ali Velshi and Jeannette Walls will complete the roster of scheduled speakers. The Series is sold in subscription packages ranging from $371 for all seven presentations to $214 for a mini-package of four.
Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States and founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation will kick-off the series on October 5, 2009. Former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice will share her deep leadership insight and bold ideas on November 18, 2009. On January 13, 2010, geneticist and National Geographic filmmaker, Spencer Wells will take audiences on an epic visual journey around the world using DNA to trace the migration routes of our ancient ancestors. Jeannette Walls, the inspirational best-selling author of The Glass Castle, will rejoice in our shared humanity on February 24, 2010. Legendary broadcaster Dan Rather will speak on March 17, 2010 and presidential historian Michael Beschloss take the stage April 7, 2010. Good Afternoon Mr. Bradford (General Manager of Rusnak Audi Pasadena),

I just wanted to write you in hopes of you recognizing one of your employees in the Audi showroom. I was in about a month ago on a Thursday (8-24-09?) to ask about any info on the new Audi S4 which I am looking into purchasing. While I was waiting for a salesman to assist me with my questions, the receptionist, very genuinely engaged in conversation with me making me feel special. She was also able to tell me basically all about the car I was going to ask the salesman about. (how much hp/tq, gas mileage, suspension, wheels, packages etc) I was not expecting that at all and there was no further need for a salesman to assist me since she went above and beyond her call of duty as receptionist. Either she is very well trained, a very intelligent young lady, or combination of both. She is a great asset to the Audi showroom and I believe she would make an awesome salesperson one day if she chooses to. I wish I could have wrote you earlier but time passes quick!!! Please have someone recognize her, she is a younger early 20’s asian girl. Thank you for your time in reading this and I hope you have a pleasant afternoon.
