The New E-Class |
|
Mercedes-Benz is once again setting the standard with the new 2010 E-Class in terms of safety, comfort and advanced technology in it's market segment. The sedan further emphasizes the leading position held by Mercedes-Benz in the luxury class, with a unique combination of driver assistance systems. These include ATTENTION ASSIST, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Adaptive Highbeam Assist and automatic emergency braking, which is activated under immediate threat of a collision.
Mercedes-Benz has improved the already exemplary long-distance comfort of the E-Class even further in the new sedan. Advances include intelligent bodyshell technology with up to 30 percent greater stiffness, further improved seats and a newly developed suspension system with shock absorbers that automatically adjust to the driving situation. The available AIRMATIC suspension now works together with a continuously variable electronic damping system.
The outstanding safety and comfort of the E-Class are matched by its environmental compatibility and economy. The E-Class comes to the U.S. market with V6 and V8 gasoline engines, as well as the groundbreaking 50-state 3.0 liter BlueTEC diesel (launching in CY 2010) - the worlds cleanest diesel engine, compliant with ULEV and Bin 5 standards.
The power plants of the new E-Class offer an outstanding combination of performance and efficiency. Engineers from every development department have worked together to optimize assemblies and components, saving fuel through reduced weight, new design, improved function or efficient energy management.
The work done in the wind tunnel was particularly successful. With a drag coefficient of only 0.25, the new E-Class is the world's most aerodynamically efficient luxury sedan. It betters its predecessor's already excellent Cd figure by another four percent.
Other measures include energy-saving control of the alternator, fuel pump, air conditioning pump and power steering. Displays in the speedometer inform the driver how much fuel is being consumed (miles per gallon), and advise when to shift up a gear to maintain a more efficient driving style.
The new 2010 E-Class Sedan will appear in U.S. showrooms in June 2009.

BMW 7 Series |
New milestones of automotive progress are set from time to time: Now, as the new BMW 7 Series has been launched, it is that time again. As the world’s most successful purveyor of premium motor vehicles, BMW now presents the 5th generation of its flagship sedan, demonstrating once again how all-encompassing luxury can be combined and harmonized with the pleasures of dynamic performance.
The new 7 embodies luxury that inspires, driving dynamics that enthuse, and a visual
presence that earns universal admiration. It is the product of a self-assured design
philosophy and consistent yet ever-evolving engineering artistry. In great measure, this
new sedan owes its unique, progressive character to an abundance of innovations
whose purpose is to make driving a magnificent automobile – as well as riding in it – a
memorable experience.
At the core of this experience are chassis engineering that sets new international
standards and all-new powertrain technology. BMW, which introduced its Active Steering
concept in 2004, now brings it to the 7 Series in a new, unique form: Integral Active
Steering, encompassing not only the original variable-ratio front steering, but also, new
rear-wheel steering. Acting as an overall system, the two capabilities deliver a new
combination of handling ease, maneuverability and unrivaled stability in dynamic driving
conditions: Integral Active Steering is included in the optional Sport Package.
The new 7 Series introduces Driving Dynamics Control, which enables the driver to
select from four progressively sporty driving programs with the touch of a button. Driving
Dynamics Control integrates Dynamic Damping Control (which has three-mode shock-
absorber control) with transmission shift characteristics, engine response to the
accelerator pedal, and steering assist and traction control level.
Active Roll Stabilization another BMW advance in handling and riding comfort, is yet
another element of the available Sport Package: Via electro-hydraulically actuated anti-
roll bars, ARS reduces body “roll” or lean in cornering to a minimum, greatly enhancing
the feeling of road-hugging handling.
As always in BMW, the harmony of design and function is visible everywhere: for
example, in the integration of door handles into the door panels’ chrome trim lines, or the
door pulls as part of their contrasting trim material. Speaking of which: there are three
choices of wood trim, four Nappa-leather interior color schemes, and the optional
additional leather surfaces.
All these refinements and choices provide the interior counterpoint to the 12 available
exterior colors, and enable customers to highlight classic elegance, sportiness or sheer
luxury according to their personal tastes and preferences.
True to BMW tradition, the new 7 exploits the creation of a new vehicle generation to
advance the art of chassis technology and engineering. Improving both driving dynamics
and riding comfort are always the core goals of the transition to a new generation, and in
these regards the new 7 upholds the tradition brilliantly.
Just as the new engine combines sporting performance with luxurious refinement, all-
around new suspension technology endows the new 7 with uniquely agile handling for a
luxury automobile, yet also an exceptional level of riding comfort. Beyond these “basics,”
these new cars allow the driver to decide at any time what priority to assign to either of
these attributes via the new Driving Dynamics Control.

Hole In One Shot Wins Man a New Audi |
Hole in One winner Richard J. Whitlett Jr. |
Richard J. Whittet Jr., of Palm Desert won a 2009 Audi from Rusnak Audi (part of the Rusnak Auto Group) at the Loyola High School Alumni Golf Classic, held on May 11 at the Industry Hills Golf Course at Pacific Palms Resort. The winning shot was taken at Hole 5 on the Ike course at a distance of 193 yards.
The event raised over $70,000 for Loyola High School in Los Angeles.
Whittet, a graduate of Loyola’s class of 1983 and now a sales manager at New Horizon Mortgage, was on his last hole when he made the remarkable drive. The ball bounced once before rolling across the green and into the hole.
“I didn’t even realize what happened,” Whittet said. “People just started jumping up and down. The next thing I know, they tell me I won a car.”
Whittet was presented with his prize on May 14 at Rusnak Audi in Pasadena. He was able to choose any model valued up to $38,000.
The Rusnaks have deep ties to the high school. Paul Rusnak and his son-in-law Andrew Arizmendi are both graduates. Arizmendi’s son, also named Andrew, is a current student.
“We are absolutely thrilled,” said Liz Rusnak Arizmendi of Rusnak Auto Group. “We have been a part of this event for years. It’s a fun way to support Loyola High School and the impact they have on the young men of Los Angeles. We congratulate Richard on one incredible shot.”
The Rev. Greg Goethals, president of Loyola High School, thanked the dealership for their gift, “The success of this event depends on the immense generosity of friends such as Rusnak Auto Group. Their sponsorship helps to further the mission of Loyola - to provide an unparalleled education at an affordable cost. We’re excited for them and for Rich.”
He also saw the possibility of a higher power at work, adding with a wink, “Shots like that don’t happen every day. You never know.”

Dear Mr. Rusnak,
Good morning. I want to thank you so much for connecting me with Jerry at your outlet this weekend. I ended up buying the car. Everyone was tremendously accommodating and helpful – and the car was exactly what I was looking for.
This was my first time purchasing in a number of years – and to have it go so well was a treat. Thanks, so much. The next time you’re on campus, let me know. Would love to meet you.
